We believe that the Museum as a form has everything to offer students, philosophers, and humans of any age and background. We teach museum making and exhibit creation as way to explore ideas, map personal histories, delve deep into specific areas of interest, or just plain have fun. Our Elementary School workshops engage students in fun games to introduce concepts of grouping, arrangement, description, and display, and then step-by-step take kids through the process of building unique portable mini-museums. Living Exhibit Workshops, geared towards older students and adults, encourage playful analysis of ideas using the rich vocabulary of the Museum – frames, pedestals, vitrines, drawers, cabinets, labels, wall text, narration, guided tours, maps, etc. – and encourage participants to use materials at hand to experience grassroots museum-making at its best.
